Historically, Macs have not been targeted as heavily for viruses, but the increasing popularity of Apple computers means this is not as true today as it once was. Remember: you can get a FREE, licensed copy of Norton Anti-Virus from Software Central—both Mac and PC versions are available. The license includes installation on work and home computers.
- Students: Win Cash in Computer Security Awareness Contest

Explain a cyber security problem and specific safeguards that students can use to protect their computers or personal information in a short video or a poster. Cash prizes ($1,000, $800 and $400) will be awarded in each category. ITC will heavily promote winning entries from UVa students during National Cyber Security Awareness month next October. - Microsoft Office for Just $10!

With UVa's new Campus Agreement, UVa students can purchase Microsoft software for just $10 (Office 2007 Professional edition or Office 2008 for the Mac) from Cavalier Computers in the UVa Bookstore. UVa faculty and staff in Agency 207 may also get Office software for just $10 under the Work-at-Home agreement.
